In Term 3, paintbox artists will step into the world of the Impressionists as we explore the artists who transformed the way we see and paint the world. Throughout the term, students will study the lives, techniques, and artistic approaches of some of the most influential painters of the nineteenth century, creating weekly works inspired by their unique styles and subjects.

Working across landscape, gardens, atmosphere, movement, weather, and colour, students will develop their technical skills while gaining an appreciation for one of the most celebrated movements in art history. Through studies inspired by artists such as Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, Berthe Morisot, and Arthur Streeton, students will explore the Impressionists' fascination with light, season, place, and the beauty of everyday surroundings.

As always at paintbox, the focus is on thoughtful studio practice, quality materials, and nurturing each student's creative voice.

Suitable for children 6yrs old to high school.

Limited spots. Bookings are essential.

Inclusive of all materials and tools (watercolour paper, watercolour paints, acrylic paints, canvases, easels, paintbrushes, aprons, graphite pencils, colouring pencils, etc.)

IMPORTANT PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

At paintbox, we are passionate about creating a warm, inspiring, and supportive studio where every student can grow in confidence and skill. Please take note that paintbox is a working artist's studio and NOT a child-minding facility. To ensure a safe and positive experience for all, we ask families to read the following guidelines before enrolling.

A Creative Learning Environment

Our classes are small to medium sized, structured, and guided step-by-step. We focus on building real artistic skills in a calm and encouraging group setting.

To get the most out of the experience, students should feel comfortable:

  • Participating in a group
  • Following simple instructions
  • Engaging with materials in a safe and respectful way

Supervision in the Studio

During class, students are supervised within the group setting. We ask that all participants are able to:

  • Remain within the studio space
  • Follow safety directions
  • Participate alongside others in a cooperative way

Independence & Readiness

To help classes run smoothly for everyone, students should be able to:

  • Work with a level of independence suited to their age group
  • Manage their own toileting needs
  • Take part in the session without requiring constant one-on-one support

Additional Support

We are an inclusive studio and welcome children of all abilities.

If your child requires extra support; whether physical, behavioural, or personal; we simply ask that a parent, carer, or support worker stays for the session to assist them.

This helps ensure your child is fully supported while also allowing the class to run smoothly for all students.

Sharing Important Information

Every child is different, and we love getting to know what helps them thrive.

If there is anything we should know, such as:

  • Sensory sensitivities
  • Medical needs or allergies
  • Additional support requirements

Please let us know when enrolling so we can create the best possible experience.

Keeping Everyone Safe

A safe and respectful environment is essential for creativity to flourish.

If a situation arises where a student’s needs cannot be safely supported within the group setting, we may need to pause or adjust their participation. This is always approached with care and communication.

Our Commitment

We are committed to making thoughtful, reasonable adjustments wherever possible so that all students feel welcomed, supported, and inspired while maintaining a safe and high-quality experience for the whole group.

By enrolling in a paintbox program, you acknowledge these guidelines and help us create a beautiful, respectful studio environment for everyone.
