In Term 3, Brush + Bond invites children and their grown-ups to slow down, create together, and share the simple joy of making art side by side. Designed as a welcoming studio experience, each session offers an opportunity to connect through creativity while exploring a variety of artistic materials, techniques, and themes.

Throughout the term, participants will work with acrylic paint, watercolour, oil pastels, drawing media, collage, and mixed media to create a collection of imaginative and meaningful artworks. Inspired by nature, seasons, colour, storytelling, and observation, projects are thoughtfully designed to be accessible for all skill levels while allowing plenty of room for creativity and individual expression.

More than an art class, Brush + Bond provides dedicated creative time away from the distractions of daily life. It is an opportunity to share ideas, encourage one another, and experience the satisfaction of creating something together within a warm and supportive studio environment.

Whether returning each term or joining us for the first time, families can expect an artist-led experience where creativity, connection, and the process of making are valued as highly as the finished artwork itself.

Important Note to Participants:

To preserve the calm, focused atmosphere of the studio, and to ensure safety around art materials, this program is designed for children aged 3 years and older. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate infants or toddlers during these sessions, including siblings.

This allows each child to be fully present and engaged in the creative experience with their grown-up, without distraction or safety concerns. Thank you for understanding and helping us create a peaceful, intentional space for connection.

IMPORTANT PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

At paintbox, we are passionate about creating a warm, inspiring, and supportive studio where every student can grow in confidence and skill. Please take note that paintbox is a working artist's studio and NOT a child-minding facility. To ensure a safe and positive experience for all, we ask families to read the following guidelines before enrolling.

A Creative Learning Environment

Our classes are small to medium sized, structured, and guided step-by-step. We focus on building real artistic skills in a calm and encouraging group setting.

To get the most out of the experience, students should feel comfortable:

  • Participating in a group
  • Following simple instructions
  • Engaging with materials in a safe and respectful way

Supervision in the Studio

During class, students are supervised within the group setting. We ask that all participants are able to:

  • Remain within the studio space
  • Follow safety directions
  • Participate alongside others in a cooperative way

Independence & Readiness

To help classes run smoothly for everyone, students should be able to:

  • Work with a level of independence suited to their age group
  • Manage their own toileting needs
  • Take part in the session without requiring constant one-on-one support

Additional Support

We are an inclusive studio and welcome children of all abilities.

If your child requires extra support; whether physical, behavioural, or personal; we simply ask that a parent, carer, or support worker stays for the session to assist them.

This helps ensure your child is fully supported while also allowing the class to run smoothly for all students.

Sharing Important Information

Every child is different, and we love getting to know what helps them thrive.

If there is anything we should know, such as:

  • Sensory sensitivities
  • Medical needs or allergies
  • Additional support requirements

Please let us know when enrolling so we can create the best possible experience.

Keeping Everyone Safe

A safe and respectful environment is essential for creativity to flourish.

If a situation arises where a student’s needs cannot be safely supported within the group setting, we may need to pause or adjust their participation. This is always approached with care and communication.

Our Commitment

We are committed to making thoughtful, reasonable adjustments wherever possible so that all students feel welcomed, supported, and inspired while maintaining a safe and high-quality experience for the whole group.

By enrolling in a paintbox program, you acknowledge these guidelines and help us create a beautiful, respectful studio environment for everyone.
