Brush + Bond
A creative connection for parent and child.
Brush + Bond is a gentle, studio-based art experience designed for children and their grown-up to create side by side, sharing colour, conversation, and the simple joy of making together.
In this calm and nurturing environment, creativity becomes a language: a way to listen, express, and connect without hurry. Each session offers simple and meaningful prompts, perfect for beginners or those who haven’t painted in years. Together, pairs experiment with drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media, using real studio materials in a way that feels natural, relaxed, and deeply personal.
There are no expectations of perfection, no right or wrong. Instead, Brush + Bond celebrates shared creative process, moments of laughter, gentle pauses, brushstrokes that overlap, little hands helping big hands, and memories forming quietly on paper.
Parents often find that when their hands are busy, hearts open. Children often find that when the pressure to perform disappears, creativity blooms. Across each session, pairs discover their own rhythm: sometimes playful, sometimes reflective, always together.
Brush + Bond is not a class. It is a shared moment, a slow making space, a place where art quietly weaves connection.
Inclusive of all materials and tools (watercolour paper, watercolour paints, acrylic paints, canvases, easels, paintbrushes, aprons, graphite pencils, colouring pencils, etc.)
Important Note to Attendees:
To preserve the calm, focused atmosphere of the studio, and to ensure safety around art materials, this program is designed for children aged 3 years and older. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate infants or toddlers during these sessions, including siblings.
This allows each child to be fully present and engaged in the creative experience with their grown-up, without distraction or safety concerns. Thank you for understanding and helping us create a peaceful, intentional space for connection.
Sessions will begin on time and will finish on time. Please keep this in mind. Please take note that paintbox is NOT a child-minding facility but instead is a place where creative individuals can learn skills to assist them in their artistic pursuits. An atmosphere of kindness, respect and cooperation is essential. paintbox will exercise the right to withhold services/lessons to any participant who displays disorderly and disruptive behaviours.
