PAINTBOX HOLIDAY STUDIO: WILD
Paint the wild things of sea and sky.
This school holidays, Paintbox Holiday Studio goes WILD.
Across six expressive painting workshops, young artists will take inspiration from creatures of sea and sky. Working with acrylic paint and pastels, we’ll explore bold colour, layered texture, expressive mark-making and composition to create a finished artwork to take home.
Each workshop is guided step by step and designed to be achievable for younger artists while giving older students plenty of room to develop their own interpretation.

IMPORTANT PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
At paintbox, we are passionate about creating a warm, inspiring, and supportive studio where every student can grow in confidence and skill. Please take note that paintbox is a working artist's studio and NOT a child-minding facility. To ensure a safe and positive experience for all, we ask families to read the following guidelines before enrolling.
A Creative Learning Environment
Our classes are small to medium sized, structured, and guided step-by-step. We focus on building real artistic skills in a calm and encouraging group setting.
To get the most out of the experience, students should feel comfortable:
- Participating in a group
- Following simple instructions
- Engaging with materials in a safe and respectful way
Supervision in the Studio
During class, students are supervised within the group setting. We ask that all participants are able to:
- Remain within the studio space
- Follow safety directions
- Participate alongside others in a cooperative way
Independence & Readiness
To help classes run smoothly for everyone, students should be able to:
- Work with a level of independence suited to their age group
- Manage their own toileting needs
- Take part in the session without requiring constant one-on-one support
Additional Support
We are an inclusive studio and welcome children of all abilities.
If your child requires extra support; whether physical, behavioural, or personal; we simply ask that a parent, carer, or support worker stays for the session to assist them.
This helps ensure your child is fully supported while also allowing the class to run smoothly for all students.
Sharing Important Information
Every child is different, and we love getting to know what helps them thrive.
If there is anything we should know, such as:
- Sensory sensitivities
- Medical needs or allergies
- Additional support requirements
Please let us know when enrolling so we can create the best possible experience.
Keeping Everyone Safe
A safe and respectful environment is essential for creativity to flourish.
If a situation arises where a student’s needs cannot be safely supported within the group setting, we may need to pause or adjust their participation. This is always approached with care and communication.
Our Commitment
We are committed to making thoughtful, reasonable adjustments wherever possible so that all students feel welcomed, supported, and inspired while maintaining a safe and high-quality experience for the whole group.
By enrolling in a paintbox program, you acknowledge these guidelines and help us create a beautiful, respectful studio environment for everyone.
ALLERGIES & SENSITIVITIES
Little Atelier incorporates a variety of carefully selected natural and quality materials, which may include beeswax products, wool fibres, botanical elements, seed pods, timber pieces, paper products, and other creative resources.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for informing paintbox of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or additional support needs prior to participation. While every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate individual needs, paintbox cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION
Current emergency contact details must be provided at enrolment and kept up to date throughout the duration of the program.
In the event of illness, injury, or an emergency, every reasonable effort will be made to contact a parent, guardian, or nominated emergency contact immediately.
AUTHORISED COLLECTION
Children will only be released to a parent, legal guardian, or authorised person nominated during enrolment.
If someone other than the usual parent or caregiver is collecting a child, families are asked to notify paintbox prior to the session wherever possible.
MINIMUM ENROLMENTS
Sessions require a minimum number of enrolments to proceed.
Should minimum enrolment numbers not be met, paintbox reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, combine, or cancel sessions. Families will be notified as early as possible and offered an alternative session, credit, or refund where applicable.
EXTREME WEATHER & UNFORESEEN CLOSURES
As we operate within the Pilbara region, severe weather events, emergency situations, or circumstances beyond our control may occasionally require the postponement or cancellation of sessions.
Where this occurs, families will be notified as soon as practicable.
PROCESS OVER PRODUCT
At paintbox, we place great value on the creative process rather than solely the finished outcome.
Children are encouraged to experiment, observe, explore, make discoveries, and develop confidence through authentic artistic experiences. Some sessions may result in completed artworks to take home, while others may focus on skill development, material exploration, creative play, observation, or collaborative making.
We believe meaningful creative learning occurs through the act of creating itself, and that each child's artistic journey is unique.
COMMUNICATION & FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
We value open communication and recognise that parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting young artists.
Families are encouraged to discuss any questions, concerns, learning needs, or transition challenges with facilitators. By working together, we can create the most positive and supportive experience possible for each child.
RIGHT OF REFUSAL
paintbox reserves the right to refuse or discontinue enrolment where behaviour, safety concerns, or circumstances significantly impact the wellbeing of participants, staff, or the learning environment.
Any concerns will be addressed respectfully and collaboratively with families wherever possible before such action is considered.
